A Marvel producer has hinted that upcoming superhero film Avengers 4 will tie up plots concerning some iconic characters from the franchise.
“I think it’s an opportunity for us to bid a fond farewell to characters that we’ve come to know for a while, said Nate Moore, speaking to ScreenRant.
However, he added that Avengers 4 will also “introduce characters who are going to feel completely new and hopefully surprising to both our core fans and fans of our movies who aren’t as well-versed in publishing. There are great ideas out there that we’ve talked about internally that I think and I hope will be surprising and refreshing to audiences while we still continue to explore characters we’ve come to love. The new ones always feel really exciting because they can be anything. We’re at the point now where we’re blue-skying, what are the best stories to tell, and in that blue sky there are ideas that I think all of us get really excited to share with people.”
His comments come after Disney CEO Bob Igor said that Avengers 4 will not mark the end of the series. Igor added that said that the overall goal of Avengers 4 is to “have a significant conclusion” to the plot that began in the 2008 film Iron Man.
The hotly-anticipated sequel will hits screens in 2019, arriving in UK cinemas in April next year. Avengers 4 will bring about the end of the franchise’s Phase Three.
Elsewhere Marvel’s first ever Muslim superhero is set to join the universe. Ms Marvel was launched in the comics back in 2013 and her powers include the ability to change shape. Her character was created by created by G. Willow Wilson and Ian Herring. “It was really important for me to portray Kamala as someone who is struggling with her faith,” Wilson told The Times at the time of Khan’s debut. “It’s about the universal experience of all American teenagers, feeling kind of isolated and finding what they are through the lens of being a Muslim-American.”
