KAYO KANE DIRECTS AND SHOOTS FOR SUCCESS

Kayo Kane, born in Queens, NY, is making his mark in the film and music industries. At 41, he has already worked with companies such as Dip Set, Hustle Gang, M3S3, KsharkTV, King of the Ring, Silvercup Studios, Tommy Boy Records, and Colorworks.

Kayo, born February 21, 1980, grew up the youngest of four children. He started out filming neighborhood acts at 14 years old, and a year later, was shooting music videos. Early on, he realized if he wanted to succeed, he needed to train his mind to focus on film, and began replacing bad habits with learning more about film. He quit drinking and poured all his energy and enthusiasm into creating. He now he flies across the country, making videos and collaborating with people like Kid n Play, Jim Jones, 5ive Mics, Ron Lawrence, Jeff Harris, J Murda, Money Bagz, Graph, Flee Lord, Rockness Monsta, Team Homi, Hollow Da Don, Giant, Eddie Slytana, and Jah Dwella.

Kayo’s drive is two-fold: himself and his clients. He’s in the business of creating art and making an impact on each project. Kayo has a degree in film and television, but has been honing his skills long before earning it through YouTube videos and trial and error. His personal philosophy of hard work and excellence ensures each project he takes on is fresh, original, and 100% authentic.

A self-made man, Kayo pulls inspiration from other Black men, who have made something out of nothing in their lives, as well as notable men such as 50 Cent, Gucci Mane, Jay-Z, Ron Lawrence, Tyler Perry, Martin Scorsese, Robert De Niro, and Steven Spielberg. Kayo said, “I'm trying to show the world that anyone can accomplish their dreams if they work hard. No matter where they come from or who they are, because I didn't have any help or cosigns to get here - just hard work and dedication.”

One thing that surprises his clients is finding out Kayo can rap. He began writing his own lyrics at 14 years old and keeps up with it on the side. With his no-longer-secret talent for rapping, along with his passion for film and acting, Kayo knows how to capture the energy and nuances of each video he shoots. What the future holds is unclear, but in the next five years look for Kayo to be firmly established in the video world, and is working hard to be in a position to film with some of the very men who inspire him.

Kayo picks a random Instagram follower to send $50.00, so make sure you’re following him, too (@kayokane).
